My Little Slice of Heaven

I’ll assume everyone had a splendid holiday weekend! I know I did; however, I am bummed at how quickly the weekend went. I recently saw that another blogger mentioned we don’t have any more holidays till September…I think I am going on strike about that. I do, however, have something to look forward to about returning to work. What’s that you say? Well, okay maybe you didn’t say that but I’m sharing anyways. I look forward to visiting my little slice of heaven! You see I’ve passed this park a hundred times at lunch but always told myself I didn’t have time to stop by. Up until recently I’ve always felt guilty if I didn’t use my lunch break to try to squeeze in like a hundred errands. Let’s face it though that’s no real break, right? So for the past two weeks I have been making more of a concerted effort to slow down and smell the flowers....literally.
My slice of heaven is calm and peaceful. My slice of heaven does not require me to sit in dreadful city traffic. My slice of heaven does not require me to be plugged into my cell phone or laptop. My slice of heaven does not require me to have answers for everything {cause you know I do!}
My slice of heaven allows me to kick off my shoes and feel the grass between my toes. My slice of heaven allows me to think….clearly. It may only be for a short time but my slice of heaven is just that; 60 minutes of pure heaven.

Where is your slice of heaven? Where is your favorite place to unwind?

Good for you for taking some time to your self! That's a great looking little spot. I spend most of my waking hours in my office/craft room. And you would think that I would eventually get tired of it, but I really don't. I like that I have absolute freedom in here and that there are countless projects inviting me to come play. Other than that, I also like sitting on the patio at night, sipping a glass of wine and looking at the stars. Preferably with my hubby by my side doing the same. It's the perfect moment to talk about our days and discuss our strategies of solving the problems of the universe. ;)

Have a "delightful" day! ;) hehe

Is that your backyard? If so, lucky you!! It looks so serene & calming. My happy place? Sitting on the back porch with a glass of wine after the kiddos go to bed. Ahhhhhh

The bathtub! I drop in a LUSH bathbomb, light a few candles, pour an ice cold glass of Mango wine, and unwind with my latest fiction novel that whisks me away....
