That's right, I'm back to my old coloring glass shenanigans. You may recall that time I colored glass here and here. You may also recall that time we were working on a living room remodel (or "great room" as the fancy schmancy hubby likes to call it) that was quickly forgotten because SOMEONE was a tad bit obsessed with a certain someone's nursery. Not naming names or anything.
Well, I've been itching to get my focus back onto the living room and I started by making these ordinary clear glass vases into yummy, mustard yellow décor.
I followed pretty much the same technique that I did here except this time I ditched the Mod Podge and just simply used acrylic paint .
Are you ready for how simple this is?
Pour, twirl, dry. Repeat after me.....pour, twirl, dry, pour, twirl, dry, I want to send Jennifer lots of money, pour, twirl, dry.
Tip: Make sure to use card board or paper to catch the drips from your drying vases and I would recommend moving your vase around every ten minutes that way the globs of dripping paint won't build up on the lip of you glass.
Allow your project to dry for a good 24 hours and remember this isn't water proof so no going all crazy thinking you can turn your colored glass into a fish bowl.
Don't say I didn't warn you when your beloved Nemo dies.
Are you working on any rooms around your house lately?
Anyone else rockin a yellow/grey color scheme in their home right now?
*BTW that fabulous chevron wooden sign was an anniversary gift from the hubby a few weeks ago. Isn't it fab? Yep, I think I'm going to keep him around a little longer;)
He bought it off a seller on Etsy called The Wooden Poet. You can check out her shop here.

1. i love the painted glass idea and need to try it. 2. i love that chevron artwork, as well!! such a cute vignette!
These turned out great! I have thinking about doing my bathroom in grey, yellow, and cream. Now I just need to find the time. I can barely keep it clean at this point :)
Great DIY. And your mantle looks great! I'd love if you'd link up to The DIYers. http://homecomingmn.blogspot.com/2013/08/the-diyers-and-last-weeks-top-three.html
Surprise, but yes, I am using gray and yellow (but plus navy blue and a little teal) in our bedroom right now. I think we might have the same house.
RIP Nemo.
Ha. Poor future Nemos.
Love this simple tutorial. Thanks for sharing!

The glass looks great but your chevron-love sign is darling!
Beautiful, and the subliminal "money" message is fabulous.
I always say I need to do this, but even the simplest things taunt me with the many ways I can mess it up. this looks gorgeous!
