OFFICE & CRAFT ROOM REVEAL: ONE ROOM CHALLENGE

Farmhouse Office And Craft Room Makeover. Beautiful farmhouse desk, a craft closet and a dreamy wall shelf!

Aye, aye, aye. It's the One Room Challenge reveal day! I'm so stinken' excited to share our new farmhouse style office and craft room! I have LOTS of things I'd love to chat about, like how I just barely finished this room in time, and how I'm so exhausted my eyes are starting to cross BUT for the sake of time and my sanity, I'm just going to jump right to it. As a quick reminder here are a few "before" pics of this room (after I cleaned it out! The real, real "before" pics will never see the light of day EVER). As you can see the space was boring, boring, boring.....

And now for the final reveal!

PS. I hope you like pictures because I have LOTS of them to share, so grab a coffee, or vodka (I won't judge) and sit back and enjoy the tour!

If you'd like to check out the weekly progress of this space you can view it here:

For the past year, we've kept the door to this room closed because it was such a hot mess BUT not anymore. I'm so happy with how it turned out! I was aiming for a clutter-free, farmhouse inspired space that would allow me room to craft and blog (or hideaway from the kiddo!) I tried to use a lot of furniture pieces and decor items I already had on hand, it was a lot of fun recycling things from other rooms. I did make a handful of purchases. I'll be sharing a full source list at the end of this post but this table was from my college days and I was able to rescue it from our basement. The top was pretty beat up, so I stripped and sanded it, which left it with this really pretty blonde, whitewash look that I adore.

The hutch was an old tv unit that we turned into a craft storage cabinet a few years ago. You can read all about it here. It got a fresh coat of paint and I added some beautiful glass knobs to the doors.

Hutch

Unlike our office in our old house, this one has a closet, so I no longer needed the hutch to store craft supplies. I did, however, want something to hide my printer and Silhouette machine in, so I had my hubby add a shelf to the inside and now it's the perfect electronic hideaway! I also use it to organize my card stock and a few other random supplies.

The long side wall also got dressed up a bit. My hubby built that sweet little table for me. I kind of want one for every room now! In week's past, I've talked about the router being smack dab in the middle of this wall and how we had plans to relocate it to a more discreet area but once I set up the table and basket I realized it helped disguise it a bit, so I decided to keep the router where it was. It was nice to save ourselves another task from our to-do list!

The filing cabinet was a thrift store find from a few months ago.

It was actually just a 5-drawer dresser that I painted white. I replaced the original knobs with some bronze colored label pulls. It's the perfect piece for storing office and craft supplies.

Speaking of storage, let's take a gander over to my craft closet. I wanted to make as much use out of this space as I could. On the left side, I set up my sewing area (side note: I don't even know how to sew! I begged my hubby for a sewing machine the past few Christmases and he finally surprised me with one in December. I told myself I wasn't allow to practice with it until I cleaned the craft room...it's my little reward to myself!)

I stored all my ribbon up above on the shelf.

On the right side of the closet, I made a wrapping paper organizer and utilized storage carts I already had to store away things like craft paint, scissors, glue, and other supplies.

Hands down my favorite thing in this room is the gigantic-shelf-headboard-thingamajig I found at a resale shop last month. I know I shared peeks of it through out the whole challenge but here she is in all her glory.

The chippy white wood and mason jars just makes my heart go pitter-patter every time I catch a glimpse of it. Seriously, best $20 thrift store find EVER.

Let's talk about this light (that literally arrived minutes before I had to photograph the room!)

Pendant light

This was a generous donation from Parrot Uncle. I've worked with them in the past and I've always been smitten with this retro-farmhousey-pendant light they sell. We had an outdated fan in here and I was glad to get rid of it. I think this light adds the perfect vintage touch to the room!

I can't even express how glad I am to be done with this room! It's not the most dramatic room makeover but it really has come a long way compared to it's hoarder days. It was weeks of decrapifying but totally worth it. It's clutter-free, everything has it's place, and now I can actually walk in here and feel inspired! It's always so fun seeing your design boards come to life, so as a quick reminder here is what I put together as ideas for the room.

Thanks for swinging by! I hope you enjoyed this reveal as much as I did. I'm hoping to eventually find a rug that ties the room together even more but in the meantime, you can bet we'll be keeping the door open! Over the course of the next month or so, I'll be sharing tutorials for the handful of DIY projects I included in this room. Stay tuned!  Now I'm off to sleep for a month! Thanks to Linda of the Calling it Home Blog for hosting this fun and challenging event!

Pssst...don't forget to check out all the other ORC participant's room's reveals here.

You can also find me on Instagram sharing DIY, decor, and other delightful shenanigans.

PS. Thanks again to my sponsor, Parrot Uncle, for donating the beautiful pendant light!
Also, HUGE thanks to my hubby who always takes on twenty projects whenever I re-do a room. Thank goodness he knows how to build and hang things, because this room would be a natural disaster waiting to happen if I was put in charge of power tools!
