If tiered tray decorating was an Olympic sport, I'd be in Rio right now (in a mosquito net, of course). Remember the steroid-induced tray I brought home a few months ago? Well, it got a quick and easy makeover for the upcoming Fourth of July weekend. Let me tell you, I've been having way too much fun trying to come up with different tray decorating ideas for this thing!
It's like my new guilty pleasure.
As you can see, the tray only received a few minor edits since it's spring makeover.
I've made note a time or two over the past few months on how I've been working on decrapifying our home and although I'm really tempted to buy all the cute holiday decor the stores keep stocking their shelves with, I'm at a point in my life where maintaining my sanity is much more appealing.
A $2 pack of American flags seem like an easy and inexpensive way to add some patriotic flair to my decor. There's really so many things you can do with these guys. I just added a few to my blue mason jars and really loved the contrast of the red and blue against the chippy, white tray.
For the top of the birdhouses, I made some simple red flags out of washi tape and toothpicks. A two minute craft that I'm totally digging! Anything that takes less than ten minutes these days is a winner in my book. That's usually the time limit at which I can keep the toddler away from my craft stash.
I'm not HUGE into holiday decorating (unless it's Christmas, then it's on like donkey kong!) but I do like to add a few things here and there to celebrate. Despite not originally knowing what the heck I was going to do with this beast of a tray, it has proven to be one fun roommate!
I hope you guys enjoyed this simple holiday decor idea. Do you decorate for the Fourth of July? A little? A lot? None at all? I love hearing everyone's take on this! Feel free to comment below or better yet, we can chat over on Instagram and Facebook too.
