Welcome to our very, merry rustic Christmas playroom! Last week I shared part 1 of our holiday home and today I'm excited to be back with 11 other bloggers for the "Homes for the Holiday" tour.
If you're visiting from Jen of Noting Grace's home, welcome! She's the owner of one of my favorite hutches ever in IG land and I just adore her style.
I also be linking this tour up with The Nester's holidap hop.

For those of you who are new here, last year we converted an unused (and underwhelming) bonus room off our kitchen into a camp-themed playroom for our 3 year old kiddo and I love decorating it for the holiday season!
I think you'll find that our decked out playroom looks VERY similar to last year's Christmas playroom. The year of 2016 was what I deemed the "Year of Decrapifying" (that's totally a word) and after spending lots and lots of hours trying to declutter spaces within our home, I really tried to stay discipline when it came to bringing more seasonal stuff into our home.
I know sometimes thanks to blogs and Instagram, it's easy to be sucked into that whole misleading belief that you need to restock your Christmas decoration inventory every year but seriously, that's absurd! So I hope if anything, you find yourself inspired to reuse and recycle your seasonal decor with pride!
The only thing new I purchased for this space this season were the adorably, rustic embroidery hoop ornaments. Little B LOVES animals so he was super excited to see them. I found them at Kohl's and am hoping there are still some left at their after-Christmas sale because I actually would like a few more for this tree. The rest of the ornaments were from Michaels last season.
I made this wall mounted deer head from a giant ornament I found a few years ago. Let's just say this project required massive amounts of super glue and at one time I was found in our garage binding it with rope like a hostage victim. All in the name of DIY, of course!
The little reindeer book rack was so popular in my hometown growing up because it use to be a project our local high school's wood shop worked on. My husband and I both had older siblings in the same school and each of them made one (sadly they weren't making these anymore by time we got to school, although a teenage version of me with power tools was probably not a good idea!) I almost donated it a few years ago and thank goodness I didn't because it's one of my favorite things to put out in the playroom for the holidays!

Well, you there you have it, our rustic and cozy playroom! Feel free to swing on by and see the rest of my holiday home that I shared last week, including our new dining room walls!
I'm really enjoying Christmas through the eyes of a 3 year old this year and I can't wait to sit back and savor all the season has to bring.

Wow. I wish our playroom was that cute and clean.. one day one day.. or maybe not with two boys who destroy everything haha. It was beautiful my friend.
So cute!! Love the reindeer book rack - please share where you got it!
Hi, Liz. Sorry, there was no email to message you back but I edited the post to reflect that these were woodshop projects at our local high school when we were growing up! My husband and I are from the same hometown and each of us had older siblings that made one. MY MIL passed this one onto us!
Gosh, it's SO cute! I posted my 2016 Holiday Home Tour today too...
