My Joyful Holiday Home Tour

Happy December, friends! Hold onto your knickers because today you get to snoop around some lovely and talented blogger's holiday homes. That's right, welcome to the Joyful Holiday Home Tour, where I've teamed up with 7 other lovely ladies (all serial decorators like myself) to share how we deck out our halls for the holiday season. It's kind of like a Parade of Homes only your fingers do the walking and not your legs! Pretty sweet, right?

Psst...I also be sharing for Jennifer Rizzo's Holiday  Housewalk and The Nester's Holidap hop.

I'm actually the last stop of this journey but at the end of this post you'll see a link to all the other tours that have been shared through out the past week. You can also follow all of our decor adventures over on Instagram. If you're visiting from Laura's home, welcome, I'm so glad you're here! I'm especially thrilled for today's tour because not only is Christmas my favorite holiday EVER but also because I'll be sharing our dining room's new board and batten walls (new as in the paint was barely dry when I went to photograph!)

Entryway

First up, we have out entry way. Historically I've been known to have a tid bit of an obsession with the color blue, however, for those of you who know me you'll be shocked to know this is one of the few instances in which I incorporated the color this Christmas. Don't worry I've seen my doctor recently and all is fine!

blogger Christmas home tour 2016

I picked up this old window a few summers ago and always have a fun time decorating around it for the different seasons. You'll quickly notice that I have a love for mixing budget friendly store pieces with vintage finds.

The cute "Reindeer Crossing" sign from Michaels was the only new purchase I made for this space.  I spent the past year working on decluttering our home so this really encouraged me to reuse a lot of our decorations from last year.  Trust me, my basement will thank me.

Dining Room

To the right of our entryway is our dining room and our newest DIY project, the board and batten walls! It's amazing how the wall treatment really added some much needed oomph to this room. Kind of like a push-up bra, ya know?

This space has come a far way from last year's tour but still has a ways to go. I can't for the life of me decide on a new chandelier and we were suppose to have our floors replaced this week but due to some scheduling conflicts that project has unfortunately been pushed back into the New Year. But enough about that, let's get back to the holiday decor.

I have a hard time with table centerpieces, so I took the easy route and just alternated some mercury glass candholders I had on hand with these adorable potted trees I scored at Michaels. The mercury glass reflect the tree lights beautifully at night!

The flocked tree was a Walmart find. I added the white lights and toyed with the idea of adding some ornaments but in the end I loved the simplicity of a naked, flocked tree. The wooden star on top was a hand-me down from my aunt.

On the our other wall, we have our vintage hutch and I decked the top of it with some bottle brush trees, my mug rack, and this festive old 25 pot I found while antiquing this summer.

Every year we host my mom's side of the family for the holidays at our house and this rooms serves as the heart of the festivities. We eat until our bellies are full and usually end the night playing games which always results in a lot of cocktail-induced-slap-happy goofiness. I'm pretty sure someone almost wets their pants every year ( darn it! I knew we should of got those wood floors!)
I can't wait to make some new memories in here!

Hallway/Mudroom

We have a large twelve foot Christmas tree in our living room but I'll be skipping that space this year on the tour, mainly because we haven't done anything with that room since we moved in 2 years ago. Trust me, it's nothing to write home about (or apparently to blog about either!)We did, however, work on our garage entryway last year to create more of a functional drop zone and it's one of my favorite spaces to decorate.

I'm obsessed lately with putting trees into everything.
Crocks, crates, and baskets; I want to fill them all!

This hallway leads to both our laundry room and the kiddo's camp-themed playroom. Make sure to swing by later this week for I'll be sharing our very, merry playroom all decked out in it's Christmas best!

Despite the fact that on a normal day you'd see coats and bags scattered all along this coat rack wall, I  have to say this little festive hallway is always fun to come home to. It puts me into the Christmas spirit as soon as I open the door.

Love the new board and batten Jennifer. Everything had me swooning! :) That old pot with the 25 is fabulous! I have a similar pot, thinking I need to add a number. The kids playroom will be darling, I'm sure! Thanks for sharing your home!
hugs,
Jann
