Is it just me or did Easter really sneak up on us? The 5 inches of snow Chicago got last weekend could have something to do with it! It just hasn't felt like spring has officially sprung yet.
It also just hit me yesterday that I hadn't brought out any of my Easter decor and with just two days until the holiday, it sure isn't happening now! I did, however, start adding little touches of spring around our home by bringing in flowers (both the real and fake ones). Decorating with flowers and greenery is one of the easiest ways to welcome in the new season!
Here's a few ways I'm using them in our home.

I think everyone is much happier now that this faux hydrangea wreath has made an appearance.
(Pssst...if you're looking for a new spring wreath I have a big round-up of some of my favorite ones here)
The topiary sphere (on top of a candlestick holder) and the small artificial plant make for great lantern fillers and help add a pop of green.
Fresh flowers always bring in new energy and life into a room, don't you think?
I've always been envious of fellow decorators who magically manipulate grocery store bouquets into elegant floral arrangements. Example? Lucy, of Craftberry Bush. Is there anything this woman can't do? I felt really inspired to try my hand at my own arrangement for our dining room table after reading this tutorial she shared. (I especially loved her penny tip!)
I found the blue pot at Ross and then headed off to Trader Joe's (my favorite place for cheap flowers!) to pick up tulips and a mix of other floral beauties. I ended up having to add in a few faux leaves and flowers to fill in some of the empty spots (I underestimated how big the pot was) but all in all, I was pretty happy with how it turned out! I mean I won't be going into the wedding floral business anytime soon but it was a far cry from my "just throw 'em in a vase and walk away" days.
In the kitchen you'll find more of the fake stuff. I use to be so against faux flowers and plants but I really think they've come a long way in the past few years. Some of them are so realistic looking! This bushy-purple-berry-thingamajig in the blue pitcher (which I believe was from Michaels) is probably one of my favorite faux flower purchases ever. If you've been around for awhile, then you'll recognize it because I decorate with it a lot.
Don't forget decorating with flowers for spring doesn't have to be limited to just arrangements in vases and pots, floral wall art is just as nice this time of year as well. I found this pretty framed flower print at Goodwill last week and am absolutely smitten with it! Blue and purple is one of my favorite spring-time color combos, so this artwork had my name written all over it.
The last space I added flowers to was our hallway mudroom. We had a handful of Pansies that our neighbor so kindly gave to us but I hadn't had time to plant them yet, so I simply just gathered a few of them in my wooden "flower" box.
The greenery in the hanging white basket on the hooks, similar to my entry way wreath, also always gets changed out at the start of each season. It's my little way of bringing in a hint of the season to this space and to also distract from the chaos of coats that are usually hanging here😉

I hope you all have a lovely Easter! Our forecast is calling for sun and warm temps, which means we may actually get to wear our short-sleeve dresses with out sweaters. That pretty much never happens!
