MOTHER'S DAY GIFT IDEA: DIY DIP DYE GARDEN POTS WITH SUCCULENTS

These dip dye garden pots were super easy and affordable to make!

Which is a good thing because with only nine weeks to go before Baby B's arrival I'm finding it hard to stay awake for projects that last longer than 60 seconds.

So if you're looking for a last minute Mother's Day gift idea that will totally allow you to squeeze in a nap or two then this is just the project for you!

Here's the deets.

Find yourself some garden pots and pretty looking succulent plants. I scored my terracotta pots at the

Dollar Store. Since they were a little beat up, dirty, and covered with a floral design that I wanted to get rid of I sprayed them down with some white spray paint.

Now comes the dipping part in which I have no pictures of because like I said I was starting to fall asleep BUT thankfully it's a pretty easy process. Just fill the bottom of a small bucket {but large enough for you to dip your pot in} with some paint. The amount of paint you use will depend on the size of your pot and also how much of the planter you are aiming to cover.

After dipping, set your pot upside down to dry.

Here's my tip of the day: Place the pot over the top of a disposable water or soda bottle to dry, that way they won't stick to your surface and all the paint drips can just run off smoothly {definitely recommend using some cardboard or newspaper underneath to catch the drips!}

Once dry you can plant your succulent plants.

To dress it up a bit I created a "Happy Mother's Day" tag, adhered it to a bamboo skewer, and added it to my little planters.
