Welcome to my spring home tour! Let's just ignore that dusting of snow outside my front door and proclaim that spring has sprung anyways. Regardless of Mother Nature's state of confusion here in the Midwest, I'm still beyond thrilled to have teamed up with an AUH-mazing crew of talented bloggers for the Joyful Spring Home Tour, generously sponsored by Hayneedle. You'll find links to the participating bloggers below along with information on how to enter for your chance at a $250 shopping spree to Hayneedle!
If you're stopping by from White Lane Decor, welcome! I absolutely love how bright Kate's home is, and her touches of spring pastels are so pretty.

Five years ago if you would of asked me what my favorite season was, "summer" would have been the only word in my vocabulary, but as I've grown older I've come to appreciate all of the seasons. Well, all of them except for winter. Not sure I'll ever be accepting of Old Man Winter. Spring on the other hand, it's like everything just bursts back to life, and what a perk that is!
To me, welcoming spring into your home isn't just about adding flowers or changing up the throw pillows, spring is all about new beginnings and making changes. Obviously, this relates to both life and your home! It seems like everyone always has renewed energy this time of year to tackle rooms and projects that have been sidelined for the winter. Perhaps, it's the anticipation of summer right around the corner!
One of my favorite spaces to update for spring, is our entryway. I figure if you can't rush spring's arrival outside your door, you can at least usher it in early inside your home with a few spring accessories.
In my attempts to "decrapify" our house for the past year, I really tried to use a lot of items I had on hand, but I admit, when I spotted the flowering garland at Hobby Lobby, I couldn't resist. Into my cart it went! Draping it across the top of the old window was kind of a happy accident.
The gorgeous antique looking lanterns are from Hayneedle . I've been on the hunt for a pair of lanterns, and these fit the bill perfectly. You can actually hang them on the wall, which I plan on doing once I figure out a permanent home for them (don't hold your breath, I'm a super indecisive person)In the mean time, I loved the "enchanted garden" vibe they helped bring to my entryway dresser.
As for those vintage bunny cards....they're free printables over at Paint Me Pink. Aren't they sweet? I knew I had to use them in my spring decor the second I laid eyes on them!

For our dining room, my goal was simplicity. Thanks to the gallery wall of botanical prints, a pitcher of purple tulips is really all it needed. The rabbit flashcard was a fun find at
one of our local antique stores.
This room is still a work in progress, however, if you're a regular DN reader, you may have noticed we finally got a new chandelier. That's a post for another day but let's just say its way better than the one we had hanging here before! Ahem. There may or may not have been a non-discreet green zip tie holding up the chains of the last one. What can I say? We keep it classy around here.
I always enjoy changing out the little wreath on the door of our hutch for the different seasons.
Boxwood wreaths are my favorite this time of year! The adorable "Bunny Trail" sign is from Michaels. I love that it's neutral and "farmhouse-ISH".

Another area where I like to keep things pretty simple is in our mudroom hallway. Let's face it, on a normal day, there's only so much space between all the coats and bags that are thrown here!
I added the blue wooden crate to help bring in some springlike color and changed out the faux flowers in the hanging basket. You may also notice the "Bunny Trail" sign again. I couldn't make up my mind on where to hang it so it's been playing musical rooms. That's the fun part of decorating your home, there's no harm in playing around with things until it feels right!

Last but not least, remember spring is all about new beginnings? Well,I've been working on converting Little B's nursery into a more toddler-friendly room (excuse me while I dab my eye, darn bug must of flew in it)so I wanted to share a sneak peek of the progress so far.
We purchased the bed and bedding over the holidays, after a month long sleep rebellion that I now realized was our kiddo's way of saying "Enough with the crib!"
The white nightstand from Hayneedle was exactly what I had in mind for this room and much to my surprise Little B is a huge fan of it. You wouldn't think a nightstand would render much attention from a toddler but he LOVES having a spot for his water cup and books at night ( a matter of fact, I'm pretty sure there's about 72 books stuffed in that drawer as we speak).
The other piece I added to this room, was the spindle bookcase, also from Hayneedle.
It's great for organizing Little B's books, toys, and other items. I love the carved details on the spindles, plus, this is a piece that's pretty versatile and can be used in many other rooms.
There's still a few more things I'd like to tackle in this room but
I'm pleased with how it's coming along!
