DIY Vintage Christmas Gift Tags

Beautifully wrapped gifts are both a joy to give and receive. I think it adds another touch of thoughtfulness! With that being said, I know most of us are juggling busy holiday schedules and don't have a lot of time to go all "Martha Stewart" on our gift-wrapping assembly line.

Good news is today I'm sharing a super simple and easy way to dress up your packages with these lovely vintage-inspired Christmas canvas gift tags

Blank Canvas Tags

Blank Canvas Tags ( I found mine at Michaels but Amazon has similar ones here).

Iron-on Transfer Sheets

Iron-on Transfer Sheets (I use this brand here and have been happy with the quality)

You are also going to need a printer, scissors, iron, and most importantly a vintage image!

Conduct a quick search of Google or Pinterest and you're bound to find hundreds of free and lovely vintage Christmas images. The hard part is choosing which ones to use! The Graphics Fairy and Free Pretty Things For You always have fun goodies. I actually found this cute lil' guy over at the Free Pretty Things For You site.

Once you've downloaded your image and re-sized it (if needed in order to fit on your tags), it's time to print!
You can either print your image in color or convert it to black and white like I did by just clicking the "greyscale" option in your printer's settings.

Make sure to read your iron-on transfer sheet's instructions to assure you're printing on the right side. If you've never worked with this paper before, it will also guide you on how to iron your image onto your tags.

That's it folks! Seriously, you can whip out a ton of these tags in less than fifteen minutes.
Sooooo basically you will have all of your holiday tags created in the time that it takes for your kids to ACTUALLY listen to you and come to get their shoes on. Isn't that wonderful?!

Oh, and I plan on addressing the back of the canvas tags with a fabric pen. The fun doesn't stop there though! You can dress them up even more by tying them to your gifts with pretty ribbon, twine, yarn.....seriously, the possibilities are endless. I also added a snippet of greenery from our yard and some faux berries leftover from last year's holiday decor.

I seriously love how these turned out. You can bet your bottom dollar I'll be making more with all kinds of different fun, vintage images!

Here's a little peek into our holiday camp-themed playroom. I had a lot of fun dressing up this space and may or may not have gone a little "mad for plaid".  I'll share more of the room soon but in the mean time you can catch a glimpse of all my holiday decorating shenanigans over on Instagram. Hope to see you there!
