Thrift Store Chandelier Makeover

I've been on the hunt for a chandelier for Baby B's room for a few weeks now. In my noggin I knew exactly what I wanted. Problema? After scouring a few stores & on-line sites I wasn't having any luck finding this bad boy. Most chandeliers were either too feminine looking or way too costly.
What's a girl to do? Answer: Hit up every thrift shop in town and then some until you find one to makeover yourself!

So here is Miss Sassy Brassy before:
And here she is after:
The deets:
I found the chandelier for $6.99 at Savers and after wiping all that "I-don't-want-to-know-where-you've-been-thrifty-dust" off of it I sprayed it down with Valspar's Cobalt Cannon spray paint.

The chandelier was missing the ceiling plate so I also picked one of those up for a few bucks along with some mini modern looking lampshades at Lowe's.
All together I spent about $35 to put this light fixture together.
Not too bad, if I do say so myself.
Oh, and here is the boring ceiling fan it replaced.
From blah to awe.....

Have I mentioned how much fun I've been having putting together this room?
I mean what will I do with myself once it's all done?
Oh yeah, raise a human being!
Makeover any thrifty finds lately?

Absolutely lovely! I had a cheap builder grade chandelier that I spray painted black and added shades to. It has been hanging in our breakfast room for the past 6 years and I still love it! Great job!

Super Job on the light makeover. I've spray painted quite a few light fixtures with much success! I'm really digging the horizontally striped gray and white wall however. What a trendy nursery!

This is a beautifully decorated room. Wonderful transformation on the chandelier. I passed one like this up this morning, but it was $20 and I figured I could find one cheaper as I am not in a rush for it. You have nested well, my friend!

Looks fabulous! Great find and great makeover! I never seem to find decent chandeliers. The ones I see would need a lot more than spray paint to make them pretty. :)

I love it! I've never made over a chandelier before. I mean I have no problem taking a saw to my sectional, but when it comes to electrical...forget it! It intimidates me! You should be so proud; it looks a-mazing!!

I made over my old ceiling light fixture too, so I know how you feel (see my blog) you did an awesome job on the whole room. Love the stripes on the wall, and the ceiling light gives it that extra punch!
Great job.

I'd love to hear from you!
