Feeling a bit underwhelmed, right?

Well, now that the six weeks are over we finally have a playroom that kids will actually want to play in!

One of my favorite parts about this room is that it's chock full of DIY projects. From the built-in to the curtains, these are projects that we poured our own sweat, blood, and tears into. Sure, there were times I wanted to commit myself to a mental hospital, but it truly was a labor of love for our little guy. Let's hope he remembers this one day when he goes to put me into an old fogie home!

It's amazing how a little paint and new slipcover totally transformed this old futon.

A round side table scored at Goodwill a few months ago came in handy for this space.
The vintage ice bucket is perfect for storing our collection of crayons.

I adore the rustic light hanger that we made. I racked my brain forever on trying to come up with a solution to hide the long cord (toddlers + cords = danger) and am so glad
it worked out as I had imagined in my head.

I always enjoy putting together gallery walls, this one was no different.

Some of you may recall the fabric debate for the curtains, as you can see the buffalo check won in the end!
I super duper loved the aztec fabric but it wasn't going to be shipped to me in time.
I'm SO happy with how these no-sew curtains came out and in my opinion you can never go wrong with buffalo check.

The number one thing on my wish list for this room was storage. I mean like I wanted LOTS and LOTS of storage. It's no secret that kid's toys can take over our lives!

Playroom Storage

Let's head to the final part of this room...the kid's table.

Kid's table

If you remember I was having a hard time coming up with an idea of how to makeover this little table that I found a few years ago while thrifting. In the end, I overcame my weird fear of chalk texture and went with a chalk board table top. So original, I know, but shoot.... this may preoccupy the tot for like five minutes so that I can shower or something!

And what's camping with out the bugs, right?
Aren't these little guys cute? I found them at T.J. Maxx and practically did the running man right there in the aisle when I spotted them.

And last but not least, a lovely dip-dyed basket to store all of those balls and legos.

Little B's Nana even jumped in on the fun and made him a flannel blanket.

Phew! We have come so far in the past six weeks. Can hardly believe this is even the same room!
My little guy will be so happy that he can actually PLAY in his playroom now.
